Michael Kahsai, PhD

Quality Assurance and Quality Control
Dr. Kahsai is senior vice president of Global Quality Assurance and Quality Control, responsible for setting strategic direction and leading the quality assurance and quality control organizations. He joined Novavax in 2021, bringing more than 27 years of global experience in QualityAssurance, Quality Control, CMC Regulatory Support, Analytical Development and operational leadership. Prior to joining Novavax, he served as senior vice president, QA/QC/Bio-Analytical/CMC at Caelum Biosciences, where he implemented robust quality systems and managed CRO and CMO relationships, and process development from pre-clinical to clinical/commercialization. Previously, Dr. Kahsai held roles of increasing responsibility at Eli Lilly and Company from 2006-2018, where he most recently served as vice president, Quality Control, Analytical Program, and regulatory CMC support. Dr. Kahsai also worked for both Cardinal Health Sterile Technologies Division, and Baxter Healthcare earlier in his career. Dr. Kahsai holds a bachelor degree in chemistry, Master of Science degrees in analytical chemistry from South Dakota State University and in biochemistry from University of Nebraska, and a PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology from University of Kansas Medical School.
