Åsa Manelius is the Managing Director of Novavax AB, responsible for manufacturing and development of the matrix adjuvants. Åsa Manelius joined Novavax in February 2025 bringing over 25 years of experience in the Life Science industry, previously having held positions in general management as Managing Director and several executive and senior leader and management roles in pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing operations, development and supply chain.

Prior to joining Novavax, Ms Manelius spent 5 years at AstraZeneca in Södertälje, where she in December 2019 joined AstraZeneca as General Manager, Sweden Biologics, AstraZeneca's strategic launch and commercial DP supply site for biologic medicines, and in July 2023 as Therapy Area Lead, Respiratory & Immunology, Global Supply Chain and Strategy. During 2010-2019 Ms Manelius was Managing Director and Site Lead at Biora AB, and she has also previously worked for Pfizer Health AB, where she was a member of the executive leadership team at Pfizer’s biologics manufacturing site in Sweden for more than 10 years.

Ms. Manelius holds a Tekn. Lic. degree (PhD) in Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering and M.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering from Lund University.
