Summary of the Position:

Novavax is seeking a full-time IT Support Engineer III to perform daily support rounds with executive personnel, reporting general status and open issues, adherence to service level standards and agreements, and have the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, maintain records, and to work with interruptions. The individual will also conduct training programs designed to educate users about basic and specialized applications, especially collaboration systems and respond to hardware and application support queries and issues reported to the IT Service Desk.  

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform daily support rounds with executive personnel, reporting general status and open issues
  • Adherence to service level standards and agreements
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, maintain records, and to work with interruptions.
  • Conduct training programs designed to educate users about basic and specialized applications, especially collaboration systems
  • Respond to hardware and application support queries and issues reported to the IT Service Desk
  • Set up Voice and Video and collaboration tools for meetings and presentations
  • Provide user and email account administration, i.e., password resets, account moves, adds, and changes in Active Directory and Office 365
  • Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems associated with network connectivity and workstation hardware/software
  • Use imaging tools and methodologies to load, copy, and customize operating system configurations for deployment
  • Track hardware and software for end user equipment as well as laboratory equipment.
  • Take ticket ownership and responsibility of queries, issues, and problems assigned to the IT Service Desk
  • Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical issues within the desktop environment
  • Escalate issues when required in order to resolve issues as quickly as possible
  • Install and support Microsoft Office and Windows applications
  • Develops new Knowledge Articles and SOP's as needed with guidance from Service Desk Manager
  • Ability to review and evaluate operating procedures and recommend improvements.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all staff
  • May function as project leader on small projects
  • Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the manager

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience.
  • Significant experience supporting Microsoft Windows 10 desktop/laptops and Apple MacOS and iOS technologies and devices
  • Specific Microsoft Outlook/Exchange, including advanced troubleshooting
  • A professional and courteous verbal and written communications style is a key success factor
  • Must have well developed problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate under pressure
  • Must be adept at learning and becoming quickly proficient at end user and desktop management software applications; the candidate must be skilled in the Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications
