Accounting Manager, Revenue & OTC

We are seeking a highly motivated Accounting Manager to join our Commercial Finance organization in Gaithersburg, MD.  This position reports directly to the Associate Director Revenue & OTC and will primarily focus on Billing/Invoicing, Cash Application, Gross To Net (GTN) Accounting, monthly Reconciliations for commercial / product revenue of the company.   

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create, post daily product sales invoices (Global sales), IC sales invoices, transfer of AR Balance, Cash application.
  • Create, post and analyze general ledger journal entries for products sales activities.
  • Assist with closing the books and preparation of monthly financial statements and schedules in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Develop new processes and implement GTN Accounting procedures in support of traditional commercial market.
  • Participate in the preparation of schedules to support SEC disclosures for Forms 10-Q and 10-K and other SEC filings.
  • Support external auditor, SOX, and other requests, as needed.
  • Prepare and submit monthly account and sub-ledger reconciliations; identify and investigate discrepancies.
  • Generate and analyze general ledger account activity and trends using the SAP/S4 system; investigate actual to budget variances.
  • Work cross-functionally with team members, Subsidiaries accounting team and other internal departments to understand contracts and products.
  • Support review of material Revenue contracts to help minimize company risks and provide feedback to Finance leadership, Legal colleagues, and Commercial business partners.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to team members.

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in accounting
  • CPA required, Big4 Audit experience is a plus
  • Minimum 7+ years' experience related to accounting
  • Proficiency with mid-size accounting software, SAP/S4 experience a plus
  • Biotech, manufacturing or pharmaceutical experience a strong plus
  • Public Accounting experience is plus
  • Strong analytical and writing skills
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel
