Summary of the Position:

Novavax is embarking on an exciting HR transformation initiative. Moving to a new HR operating model supported by core technologies – ServiceNow and Workday are part of the wider transformation exercise.

We are looking for Senior Manager - HR Experience Center (EC) to lead this new exciting team. Position will report directly to the Global HRIS, Analytics and Operations Leader and will be based in US.  The EC Lead will be responsible for building a team and providing ongoing leadership to the HR Experience Center. The Leader will be accountable for all aspects of HR administration including driving process excellence, employee escalation support, reporting of key metrics per SLA agreements with HR and the business.

Furthermore, the EC Lead will provide leadership and management of the organization’s Human Resources function to ensure overall performance and achievement of Novavax’ vision, strategy, and plan, in order to provide the most positive employee experience.

Individual will be a key member of Novavax HRIS leadership team responsible for the design and delivery of innovative solutions using various HR Tech platforms. This group is responsible for delivering the best employee experience , automation and enable our HR teams to focus on the highest-value work through operational excellence, technology and analytics. This is an exciting new role in optimizing our capabilities and investment in our foundational new HR platforms (ServiceNow  and Workday) and engaging our key stakeholders, inclusive of Center of excellence ,HR teams supporting the business and People Leaders .

Location & Work Arrangements:

This job is based in the United States and offers a fully remote work arrangement . Candidates to be based in EST (preferred) or CST.

Core Responsibilities:

The Experience Center Lead role is expected to be able to perform under limited supervision and with independent decision-making the certain key responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Build and maintain a strong HR Experience Center team through effective recruiting, training, coaching, team building, and succession planning
  • Strong focus on execution and completion of HR administrative activities with accurate and high quality results
  • Foster a service mindset and ensure cooperation and engagement with other divisions across the organization to ensure a unified strategy across all aspects of operations
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve processes and metrics reporting for the HR organization
  • Responsible for maintaining service catalog, updates to services, implementation of any new services and analtyics reporting in ServiceNow
  • Responsible for defining new SLA’s and KPI’s ; keep track of all escalated cases and ensure smooth resolution to closure through ServiceNow Case Management tool.
  • Responsible for working closely with the COE leads to ensure ServiceNow Knowledge articles are kept updated at all times
  • Partner closely with HR Technology workstream to ensure close collaboration between two teams also ensure that ServiceNow and Workday are in synch
  • Partner across all aspects of the HR Operating Model (COEs, HRBPs) to deliver upon the strategic vision and direction of the HR Leadership team and Business Leaders
  • Elicit feedback regarding the effectiveness of the Experience Center’s services and activities and, when appropriate, modify activities
  • Ensure current and future business needs are reflected in the development and implementation of HR strategies or plans and that all projects and deliverables are aligned with strategic enterprise objectives
  • Foster and maintain strong internal relationships with key HR and business leaders
  • Provide vision, leadership, planning, project coordination, and management for the development of a cost-effective department
  • Supervise the development of actionable, proactive metrics that drive forecasting capabilities and strategic insights
  • Set long-term strategic direction for the automation and digitization of Human Resources services by making use of RPA capabilities and increase efficiency for HR
  • Contribute to overall strategy, leadership, values, culture, and decision-making through active membership within the Governance Committee
  • Employ an effective, diplomatic, and influential communication style that works across the organization to gain support and implement positive and successful change initiatives to improve overall processes and systems
  • Partner with outside US leadership teams to provide support and guidance to the outside US Experience Center teams.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead team of 3-5 analysts

Minimum Qualifications:

Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications

  • Education: 4-year University degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of related HR work experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years of experience and a Master’s degree
  • 5 or more years in general HR operations lead role supporting Operations / Shared Services with minimum 2 years on ServiceNow Case Management and Knowledge Management
  • Experience with Global organizations having operations in North America , EMEA
  • Managed teams of minimum 3 employees in a shared service environment
  • Experience working in an environment that uses/leverages Service Management principles (including SLAs and performance reporting)
  • Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent knowledge of Hire to Retire HR Business processes (Core HR, Talent Acquisition, Benefits , Compensation, Org Development, Learning, etc.)
  • Knowledge of HR policies and programs including HR laws
  • General knowledge of ServiceNow and Workday features & functionality
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Experience working in an environment that uses/leverages Service Management principles (including SLAs and performance reporting)
  • Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
  • High degree of attention to detail.
  • Strong technical aptitude and knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel for analysis of data (Candidate needs to be highly proficient in Excel including use of formulas, functions).
  • Solid oral and written communication skills with the ability to frame communications for key customer groups.
  • Strong collaboration with all departments , negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications

  • Experience with Workday is a plus
  • Automation – RPA

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Experience in the Pharmaceuticals Biotech industry a plus
